Beehive extension "Babji mlin", from 1878, with the initials J.K. (name of hive owner). Thematically, one of the more interesting hive endings that has been used on many apiaries. The picture shows a fantastic device that rejuvenates old women... Dimensions: 35 x 12 cm.

"It is an example of a higher quality painting of the beehive ending, as painted by late baroque and post-baroque skilled rural painters in the period between 1770 and up to 1912, which is determined by the oldest and youngest endings painted in this manner. According to characteristics such as the red outline drawing, the method of painting the eyes in such a way that a white dot for the sclera is added to the dark dot for the pupil, and considering the overall impression together with the drapery of the clothes and the way of writing the year, it could be a painting tradition that was most clearly formed in the painting workshop of Leopold Layer in Kranj" (Bojana Rogelj Škafar, Slovenian Ethnographic Museum)
