This imposing Biedermeier display cabinet, crafted around 1820, is an outstanding example of the finest cabinetmaking of the first half of the 19th century. It is embellished with carefully selected walnut veneer, whose rich and symmetrically arranged grain gives the piece exceptional warmth and a refined appearance.

The slender columns at the corners are characteristic of the Biedermeier style, lending the cabinet elegant proportions and a distinctive architectural presence. Its exceptional authenticity is of particular importance: the original wooden shelves and original hand-blown glass panes have been preserved, which is a true rarity in a piece of furniture approximately 200 years old. Thanks to its large glazed surfaces, the cabinet is ideal for displaying porcelain, crystal, silverware or other valuable collectors’ items.

The cabinet was professionally restored in our Antikvitete Lipovec restoration workshop, where its historical value and authenticity were preserved with the utmost respect for the original craftsmanship. The surface was finished using the traditional hand-applied French polishing technique with shellac, restoring depth and a silky lustre to the wood while highlighting its natural beauty, just as master craftsmen did at the time the cabinet was made.

This cabinet represents an outstanding achievement in furniture design of its period. Its noble materials and timeless elegance make it equally suitable for prestigious traditional interiors and contemporary spaces, where it becomes a striking decorative focal point.
