Niko Kralj succeeded in developing one of the most comfortable chairs of its kind by pushing the limits of bent plywood and reducing the amount of material used, while maintaining a strong emphasis on aesthetics. The sult was an iconic furniture series that has stood the test of time: the Rex collection.

The Rex lounge chair, part of the Rex Kralj collection, is one of the best-known products of Slovenian industrial design. It was designed in 1956 by architect and designer Niko Kralj, who at the time headed the development department at Stol. Professor Kralj is regarded as one of the legends of international industrial design.
